Meet the Author
Jemma Davis is a cyber security awareness specialist and the founder of Culture Gem. Her work focuses on creating safer, more inclusive digital environments, helping organisations understand that accessibility and security are inseparable.
Jemma’s career took a defining turn while managing a global OWASP conference for CISOs in London. As the event unfolded, the WannaCry ransomware attack spread across the world, crippling hospitals and businesses. Watching leaders scramble in real time revealed to her how fragile systems could be, and how overlooked human factors amplified the damage. That moment reshaped her path: from marketing and communications into a mission-driven career in security awareness.
Since then, she has worked with organisations across industries to challenge “tick-box” compliance and embed practical, adaptive training. She is recognised for her ability to cut through jargon, bring security concepts to life, and show how ignoring accessibility isn’t just exclusion, it’s a risk.
Access Denied: The Security Risk of Ignoring Accessibility is her first book, capturing years of experience into a clear, direct guide for leaders who want to build both secure and inclusive cultures.
